Cargo Claims
Hull Claims
Assistance and advice in connection with collision, fire, grounding, salvage and other casualties. Appointment of solicitors and forensic experts.
General Average
Representation of cargo underwriters in connection with claims involving General Average. Collection of documentation and assistance with the provision of security.
Surveys
Appointment of staff or independent surveyors to deal with loss or damage on goods in transit or in store as well as on carrying vehicles and equipment, hull and machinery damage surveys on commercial vessels, fishing vessels or yachts as well as surveys on fixed and floating objects and third party property damaged as a result of marine casualties. Warranty, Pre-Risk, Risk-Assessment, Pre-Shipment and Loss Prevention surveys on cargo. Cargo loading and discharge control and supervision. Stowage and tie-down approval surveys. Surveys of hatches and holds or cargo spaces to certify fitness-to-carry. Loss prevention surveys on project cargo and heavy lifts. Inspections (FPR/LPR) and damage prevention surveys on brand new motorvehicles. Investigation of losses arising from theft, hijacking, misappropriation and fraud involving goods in transit. On/Off-Hire, Draft and Ullage surveys. Condition and valuation surveys of commercial ships and yachts.
Settling
The service of settlement of claims, wherever arising in Italy, is centralized in our Genoa Head Office. Letters of credit or other special funding arrangements can be handled to settle claims within an agreed limit under own authority on behalf of those Principals who desire so.
Certifications
Inspection and certification of goods (quality, quantity and conformity) for export or import against specification or letter of credit requirements.
Recoveries
Subrogation claims against third liable parties. In most cases requiring the appointment of solicitors, whether litigated or otherwise, contingency or semi-contingency terms (“no cure – no pay”) can still be offered.
Liability
Engineering investigation and paralegal advice in connection with product liability claims with particular in-house expertise in respect of the automotive industry.
